Where Open Spaces Meet Cozy Retreats

The Where Open Spaces Meet Cozy Retreats project embodies the perfect balance of open plan living and comfortable bedroom sanctuaries. With a focus on seamless indoor-outdoor flow, this modern design concept encourages natural interaction among family members, creating a sense of connectivity and expansiveness within the home. The fluid transition between indoor and outdoor spaces maximizes natural light, enhancing the overall ambiance and fostering a harmonious connection with nature.

On the other hand, the project also pays attention to the importance of creating comfortable and safe bedrooms as private sanctuaries for rest and rejuvenation. Every element, from bedding choices to lighting and layout, is meticulously designed to promote relaxation and peace. By prioritizing comfort in bedroom interiors, this project contributes to the overall well-being of the home's occupants, offering a balanced living environment that combines sociability with personal serenity.

The entry foyer sets the tone for the rest of the home. It creates an initial impression and establishes the overall ambiance and style. We included an in-built closet to ensure that the space can remain cutter free, providing a designated space for belongings. We wanted to create a visual impact, by using a feature wallpaper and feature pendant light. The client found the mirror, which really sets the aesthetic tone for the rest of the interior. Designing a home that caters to the needs of the entire family is so important, as it fosters harmony, encourages bonding, and creates a welcoming sanctuary where each member, including pets, feels valued and content. Designing for families involves creating spaces that facilitate togetherness and encourage shared activities. Open floor plans that seamlessly connect living areas, dining spaces, and kitchens promote interaction among family members. A home should not only be aesthetically pleasing, but it should also be comfortable, family-friendly, and pet-friendly. This home truly reflects the people and pets who reside within it. Each space has carefully chosen artwork and furniture pieces to enhance the living experience. The indoor-outdoor flow maximizes the penetration of natural light into the home. The glazed areas not only brighten the interior but also create a sense of openness and spaciousness. The extended deck becomes an extension of the interior, providing additional areas for relaxation, entertaining guests, or engaging in various activities. Being able to easily access and enjoy outdoor spaces promotes a sense of tranquility, relaxation, and well-being. It also encourages outdoor activities, such as outdoor dining, or simply unwinding in nature, fostering a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.

An open plan layout allows for seamless social interaction and connectivity between different areas of the home. By integrating the dining area with the living room and kitchen, it creates a unified space where family members and guests can gather, converse, and share meals together. This promotes a sense of togetherness and facilitates easy communication. Open plan living often aims to make the most of available space by eliminating unnecessary walls and barriers. By incorporating the dining area into the communal space, it optimizes the use of square footage. The absence of partitions creates a visually open and spacious environment, making the entire area feel larger and more expansive.
This Living Rooms is designed to be comfortable and cozy, providing a space for relaxation and unwinding. It is the space where the client's showcased their individuality through decor, and artwork.

The pink Marshmallow walls create a dreamy and feminine atmosphere, enveloping the room in a soft and comforting hue.
The addition of chalkboard paint on one of the walls sparks imagination and invites artistic expression. This interactive feature allows the young girl to unleash her creativity. The combination of pink walls and a chalkboard wall creates a harmonious balance between a serene sanctuary and a space for boundless self-expression. It fosters a sense of individuality, playfulness, and personal growth, making the bedroom a charming haven for the young girl to explore her artistic abilities and embrace her unique personality.
The Guest Bedroom has an inviting atmosphere. We used a colour scheme that complements the rest of the home, but provides a point of difference. We paid attention to textural influences by using wallpaper and allowing the space to be neutral enough for accessorising with bold colours and artwork. This Powder Room has the main flooring material run into it to ensure a cohesive progression from the spaces. We used the area under the stairs for the vanity and accessorized with a large mirror. Resene Alabaster to ceiling, architraves & skirting as well as all walls apart from feature wall; Resene Half Emerge to feature wall; Moduleo Transform Falcon Wood 28890 to floor
For the Master Bathroom we wanted to create a sophisticated and elegant atmosphere. To make the layout feel more spacious we used his and hers vanity cabinets both with circular mirrors over. The task lighting for grooming above the mirrors and ambient lighting for relaxation, enhances the functionality and mood of the room.
