James Pilcher of Mileham spoke with us about their Wollstonecraft project, where Momo Handles was used throughout the renovation. The brass and gold detailing of Momo Handles added to the luxurious and contemporary desired look to this Sydney townhouse.
The Wollstonecraft project was a major internal refresh of a 25-year-old, triple split-level townhouse in Sydney’s Lower North Shore. Mileham stripped the property right back to its bare bones and refined and refinished it with new floors, doors, joinery, finishes, furnishing and lighting. The result being an elegant townhouse exuding Parisian flair. This provided a backdrop showcasing their client’s appreciation for luxury contemporary furniture, art, fittings and finishes.
James further explained that the kitchen was treated as a centrepiece and highlight of this home. Custom timber cabinetry was painted in a bold Dulux Blue Rhapsody Gloss, the colour of which carried through into the vein of the marble benchtops and splash back. Momo’s Belgravia pull handles in satin brass, contrasted with the cabinetry to create a sense of drama and understated elegance, much like gold buttons on a classic, tailored Ralph Lauren navy blazer.

Momo Handles is of humble origin. Launched in 2008 with the vision to create a simple range of popular handles to supply Australia's kitchen and cabinet makers. Momo handles proved to be reliable, well designed and unpretentious. Inturn Momo’s popularity grew and it became clear designers and cabinet makers were craving a fresh approach that better balanced style and quality with affordability.
This watershed moment was the beginning of Momo’s journey and transformation. The team then diligently scoured international ranges, emerging trends and industrial design until there was a clear vision of how to best evolve the Momo offering.
Momo Handles had to re-imagine itself and unite it’s core brand values. Design aesthetics, beauty and quality are paramount to the brand. In 2019 they unveiled this vision with a refreshed look and an inspired new product range. The New Momo was born and it’s popularity soared. In 2020 they launched exclusive new designs, developed only for Momo Premium.
