AP: What kind of landscape would you like to live in?
HM: Somewhere with mountains and a lake.
ArchiPro: What's your favourite sandwich/lunch?
Hamish Muir: I'm coeliac so I don't do sandwiches. It's a tough question – probably leftovers these days.
AP: What life lessons does architecture teach you?
HM: That you're always learning. I think it takes take seven decades to become a good architect.
AP: Texting or talking?
HM: Texting.
AP: Where do you find inspiration when you design?
HM: Everywhere and anywhere. Generally just keep your eyes open anywhere you go.
AP: Have you ever worn on socks with sandals?
HM: No, but I wear a onesie.
AP: Which project do you wish you had designed yourself?
HM: So many! Amisfield at Lake Hayes because it looks like it's been there forever, but it's only 20 years old - timeless!
AP: Do you know how to salsa dance?
HM: No, not interested.
AP: On a scale of 1-10 how good a driver are you?
HM: 8.5
AP: What's your favourite part of the job?
HM: It's probably the thrill of the chase more than the finished product, trying to understand the client trying to put yourself in the client's shoes and then deliver on that.
