WHAT IS COLOUR VARIATION?
Colour variation refers to a difference in colour appearance that can occur when a product is placed in different lighting or seen at different angles.
Colour variation in tapware, simply put, is colour when compared against finish, may vary.

HOW CAN COLOUR VARIATION OCCUR?
As seen above, colour variation can occur for different reasons:
1. LIGHTING
Product finishes can appear different in warm light vs cool light as they adapt depending on their environment.
For example, Meir PVD Brushed Nickel colour range under warm light appears with gold undertones compared to cool light where silver undertones are seen more prominently:
Cool light setting
To emphasise a cool aesthetic, try pairing with a monochrome palette of achromatic tones like greys, whites and blacks.
Warm light setting
To emphasise a warm aesthetic, try pairing with a neutral palette of earthy tones, like browns, tans, creams, olive green and even orange.

2. PRODUCT SHAPE
Curved silhouettes versus straight forms will give a different colour result because of the angle that the light hits and are then reflected.
For example, in straight styles, light is bounced from a flat surface, appearing darker and cooler compared to curved products where light is more diffused and scattered in all directions, resulting in gold warmer tones.
3. SCREEN RESOLUTION
Due to differences between computer monitors and mobile devices, product colours seen online may appear different when compared in person.
As a result of colour variation occurring, the colour displayed online may vary from the product finish that appears in your home setting.
