Integrating Aussie UnderCover Pool Covers into Your Designs: A Game-Changer for Architects and Designers

Why Choose Aussie UnderCover?

Unlike bulky above-ground pool covers that disrupt the visual harmony of an outdoor space or other systems that include metallic lids, the Aussie UnderCover system is designed to be concealed beneath the pool’s decking or surrounding landscape. This allows architects and designers to maintain clean lines and an unobstructed aesthetic while ensuring a practical and sustainable pool-covering solution. The Aussie UnderCover® system is available in both manual and semi-automatic configurations, offering flexibility to suit different project needs.

Seamless Integration with Any Design

Aussie UnderCover is highly adaptable and can be customised to complement a wide range of pool designs, materials and layouts. Whether your project features timber decking, stone paving or tiled surfaces, this system integrates effortlessly, preserving the elegance of your design vision.

Enhancing Functionality and Sustainability

Pool covers are a key element in energy conservation and water management. The Aussie UnderCover system helps reduce evaporation, minimise heat loss and keep debris out of the pool. This translates to lower maintenance costs, reduced chemical usage and a more sustainable outdoor space—an increasingly important consideration in environmentally conscious design.

Uncompromised Durability

A well-integrated pool cover enhances both functionality and longevity. The Aussie UnderCover system provides a durable and discreet solution that minimises maintenance while preserving the integrity of the surrounding landscape.

Common Design Mistakes to Avoid

To ensure seamless integration, designers should be mindful of the following potential pitfalls:

• Insufficient space allocation

Ensure there is adequate space for the cover housing beneath the decking or surface materials to avoid operational challenges.

• Improper drainage planning

Without proper drainage, water accumulation can damage the cover mechanism. Incorporating effective drainage solutions is essential.

• Material compatibility issues

Choosing materials that clash with the surrounding surfaces can lead to visual inconsistencies. Always select compatible materials for the cover lid.

• Limited pool cover accessibility

A beautifully designed pool loses functionality if a cover cannot be easily incorporated. Ensure the design accommodates a pool cover for ease of use.

• Code compliance

The National Construction Code (NCC) mandates that all pools heated by gas or electricity, or those exceeding 40,000 litres, must have a pool cover.

Case Study: Integrating Aussie UnderCover into an Existing Design

• Initial design issue

The original design did not allocate space for a pool cover system.

• Solution

The plan was modified to include a platform at the wide end, with copers along the Baja shelf. This adjustment created space for an Aussie UnderCover system while ensuring easy access along the copers.
