The last few years have seen a strong shift to entertaining at home – outside, barbecues have become the focal point, while indoors, fireplaces are the main gathering point.
Dedicated to helping Kiwis find the right barbecues and fireplaces for them, the family-owned and operated BBQ Central Weber Store opened in October 2022 as one of the 54 independently-owned Weber Stores across Australasia.
With the introduction of Weber Outdoor Kitchens, BBQ Central has created an all-in-one solution for customers, offering design consultations as well as site measures, delivery and installation.
A variety of options are available including left and right modules and four grill options for both natural gas and LPG gas. All products have been made with the best outdoor-rated materials available with impressive design inclusions such as natural fireproof granite countertops, Laminex Alfresco Compact Laminate doors and drawer panels, Hettich closures, hinges and drawer runners, and V-lite interiors.
“Grilling is no longer just steak for the adults and a few sausages for the kids. People have become increasingly inspired to be more creative with their cooking and impress friends and family with their new skills,” says Jason Vlaar, Owner and Operator of BBQ Central Weber Store. “Think Friday night pizzas on the grill; nailing that smoky flavour and crispy crust that you can’t get from a regular oven; trying international flavours and techniques like Korean barbecue and Mediterranean-style grilling; and using spices and marinades from around the world.”
There has also been a strong trend towards high-tech grilling – utilising smart grills and gadgets that help monitor temperature and cooking times.
“With the increasing price of produce, people want tools to make it easier to achieve perfect results every time,” says Jason. “And don’t forget desserts on the barbecue. It’s not just savoury dishes any more.”
Desserts like golden syrup dumplings, lemon syrup drizzle cake and salted chocolate brownie cookies are all recommended with modern grills excelling at versatility.
All of this can be done with a Weber Outdoor Kitchen.
“Our goal is to be the ultimate destination for customers seeking the best service, experience and advice when choosing a Weber barbecue or accessory. Our in-house barbecue cooking classes are continuing to be a fun way to showcase these products and their versatility.”
When it comes time to gather inside, BBQ Central’s British Fires provide warmth and ambience.
The BBQ Weber Central Store has four working models of British Fires on display, showcasing the brand’s sleek designs and impressive technology. The electric fires take flame technology to the next level, with LED flame visuals that mimic the natural flicker and colour of a real fire. The designs also feature British Fire’s award-winning Deluxe Real Logs to achieve the same aesthetic to be expected from a traditional fireplace.
BBQ Central Weber Store will be launching exciting new products over the next year, including more British Fires, Weber Outdoor Kitchens, Weber Slate griddles, Weber Lumin electric grills, plus all-new Weber Summit models.
“We also enjoy increasing our local community engagement and local business collaborations,” says Jason. “Our barbecue store is packed with world-class products, staffed by passionate product experts, and consistently delivers fantastic customer experiences. Come and see, taste and enjoy for yourself.”
