Everything you need to know about home automation with Clipsal

Smart home technology is for everyone

It's often assumed that home automation systems are designed for wealthy, tech-savvy people — but that is far from the truth. Offering a variety of solutions that allow you to automate tasks, control devices remotely, and monitor and manage your home environment and security, home automation is a valuable tool for any homeowner.

“Smart home technology can help homeowners elevate their daily lives, providing peace of mind, comfort, and convenience at the touch of a button,” says Tim Fant, offer manager at Clipsal. “Despite common misconceptions, it’s not expensive or difficult to set up. You can tailor the technology to your needs and add any features you want, allowing flexibility and control.”

Those with busy lifestyles or access needs can benefit significantly from home automation. Being able to control lights, curtains, appliances, and more through a smart home system means users with limited mobility can adjust their environment with ease. Similarly, homeowners who travel often can relax knowing their home is protected while they’re away.

“With scene scheduling and blind and lighting remote control, you can make your home look ‘lived in’ even when you are not there. Whether you spend a lot of time away from home, or you often forget to turn things off, these features are a lifesaver,” Tim says.

Elevate your home with Clipsal Wiser and the Solis Collection

Before you jump in and buy a home automation system, it's important to consider your lifestyle requirements, any existing systems or technology integrations, and your budget. If you need assistance during the planning process, the home automation experts at Clipsal are available to talk through all the options.

“Wiser — our scalable, automated smart home system — is a great place to start,” Tim says. “Wiser allows you to control almost everything in your home from a single app, and you can easily add new features as your needs change.”

Wiser provides app functions for peace of mind at home, with options like smoke alarm-triggered lights in the case of an emergency or sensors on windows and doors to alert you when opened. Alongside lighting and window cover controls, Wiser can help you regulate room comfort and efficiency by automatically opening and closing blinds at certain times for effortless management of your environment.

“Every household has its little rituals, and your Clipsal Wiser Smart Home can instantly set the mood. Whether it’s setting mood lighting for dinnertime or dimming the lights and closing the blinds for movie nights, just set the moment exactly how you want it once, then call up your saved settings next time.”

The Clipsal Solis Collection is a premium range of electrical switches and power points that can be integrated with the Wiser system.

“This collection is an exciting new benchmark in the electrical category for Australian homes,” says Tim Turrini-Rochford, Schneider Electric’s VP Design Asia Pacific. “It’s based on our vision to seamlessly blend cutting-edge technology with timeless aesthetics, resulting in products that not only enhance a space but also elevate lifestyle.

"Clipsal Solis is available in two smooth recycled materials with matte finishes. The push-button and switch design sits flush in an ultra-slim cover for a modern look, while the Solis T Series blends the old-school feel of robust toggles and brushed metal with perfect square edges and thin, flush covers."
