Switch Lighting’s new 48VDC Track Lighting range provides a refined and adaptable platform for creating layered lighting across residential, hospitality, retail and commercial interiors.
Good lighting is rarely achieved with a single type of luminaire. It comes from the considered combination of ambient, task and accent light—and from understanding how each layer contributes to the architecture.
Switch Lighting’s new 48VDC Track Lighting range brings these elements together within one streamlined system. Combining a discreet architectural profile with a selection of spotlights, linear luminaires, pendants and adjustable fittings, it gives designers greater freedom to shape the light around the space.
A More Adaptable Approach to Lighting
Fixed lighting layouts are often designed around a space at one particular moment. Furniture moves, artwork changes and rooms take on new uses, but the lighting remains where it was first installed.
Track lighting provides a more adaptable alternative.
Luminaires can be positioned along the track to respond to the layout and function of the interior. As requirements change, fittings can be repositioned or the lighting composition adjusted without redesigning the entire ceiling plan.
This flexibility is particularly valuable in spaces where the interior will continue to develop after completion. In a home, it may allow lighting to respond to changing furniture or art. In a gallery, retail, hospitality or commercial environment, it can support new displays, layouts and experiences.
The result is a lighting system that is designed not only for the completed project, but for the way the space may be used in the future.
One System, Multiple Layers of Light
The strength of the 48VDC Track Lighting range lies in the variety of lighting effects that can be created within a consistent system.
Track spotlights provide focused accent lighting for artwork, materials and architectural details. Linear luminaires can contribute broader, more even illumination, while pendant fittings introduce a more decorative element over tables, counters and work surfaces. Adjustable luminaires provide further control over the direction and placement of light.
Used together, these fittings allow ambient, task and accent lighting to be developed as part of one coherent composition.
Rather than treating each luminaire as an isolated object, the system allows designers to consider the relationship between light, surface, volume and function. A narrow beam can define a feature or create visual rhythm, while wider illumination can support general use and soften the contrast within the room.
Designed to Sit Within the Architecture
Lighting should contribute to an interior without unnecessarily competing with it.
The slim proportions of a 48VDC system allow the track and luminaires to maintain a restrained presence within the ceiling plane. Standard, recessed and deep-profile track options provide different levels of integration, allowing the system to respond to the architectural language of the project.
A recessed or deep-profile installation can create a particularly clean result, while a more visible track can be used as an intentional linear element within the interior.
Available in textured black and white across selected fittings, the range can either recede into the surrounding architecture or provide a subtle point of contrast.
Lighting Considered from the Beginning
Track lighting offers flexibility, but the strongest result still comes from careful planning.
The location and form of the track, the selection of luminaires, beam angles, mounting heights and controls all influence the final experience. Addressing these decisions early allows the lighting to be coordinated with ceiling details, interior finishes, furniture and key architectural elements.
Switch Lighting's Lighting Design team works alongside architects, interior designers, builders and homeowners to develop lighting solutions from concept through to completion. This collaborative approach helps ensure the track system is not simply added to the project but considered as part of the architecture.
A Platform for Changing Spaces
Switch Lighting's 48VDC Track Lighting range provides a flexible platform for contemporary interiors—bringing multiple luminaire types, considered optical performance and adaptable placement together within one architectural system.
Whether used in a residence, hospitality venue, retail space or commercial interior, it allows the lighting to respond to the project now, while retaining the flexibility to accommodate change in the future.
