Nestled in the leafy streets of Croydon South, Melbourne, on Belmont Road, we find 'The Belmont,' an exquisite home owned by the incredibly talented Laleh Mohmedi—Food Artist and Founder at Jacobs Food Diaries. The house recently underwent a complete redesign under the creative direction of Rachel Collard from R&Co Design Studio, transforming into a luxuriously appointed residence with a cutting-edge lifestyle imbued with character and poise. We step inside this stunning home to take a closer look at its contemporary transformation, adorned with our award-winning bespoke finish, Meir Shadow.

When Rachel was appointed to redesign 'The Belmont' into the home of Laleh's dreams, she aimed to convey a sense of luxury and atmosphere while accommodating the ideal family living for Laleh and her family.
On every project that Rachel works on, she aims to connect homes with a feeling, making it important to incorporate both colour and texture. In 'The Belmont', this was achieved through carefully considered selections, creating an uninterrupted flow between cleverly devised zones.
For 'Project Belmont', it was easy to piece together a material selection that incorporated both colour and texture, achieving an end result that speaks volumes. As Rachel describes it in her own words, the design is 'Bold, masculine and moody—Perfect family living'.
Laleh had a clear vision of what she wanted and needed, which she communicated transparently and authentically from the get-go. This allowed Rachel to tap into Laleh's preferences and transpire them into her home.
It was a match made in heaven, and the results exceeded all expectations.
Through a labour of love, 'The Belmont' became a project that Rachel thoroughly enjoyed working on, closely collaborating with Laleh to bring her vision to fruition.
K I T C H E N
The heart of the home, The Belmont's Kitchen, truly lives up to its role as the hub.
The rest of the home wraps around this central zone, the core of the open-plan living area.
Featuring an expansive waterfall kitchen island, the kitchen is striking, modern, and well-appointed—a professional cook's dream. This is the ultimate chef's kitchen.
As a Food Artist, Laleh spends most of her day in the kitchen, finding inspiration for her culinary masterpieces. High on her list was a large kitchen zone with expansive bench space and endless storage.
With fully integrated appliances throughout and a show-stopping island bench, the kitchen is all about functionality and style.
Medium-honed Tundra Grey Natural Stone was applied to all benchtops, complemented by an incredible rangehood and splashback.
The Meir Shadow Round Kitchen Mixer Tap paired with a Lavello Gunmetal Black Kitchen Sink creates an epic entertaining zone. When not entertaining, the benchtop doubles as a versatile breakfast nook.
Beautifully warm and rich in aesthetic, the kitchen is highly functional, ticking all the boxes for Laleh as she creates all her culinary masterpieces with ample space.
B U T L E R ' S P A N T R Y
The Butler's Pantry was designed with added storage in mind. Easily accessible open shelves with continued Tundra stone ensure a cohesive look.
For Laleh, who plays with food for a living, a butler's pantry was a necessity. It allowed for additional clean-up and another creative space.
Choosing fixtures and fittings was straightforward—Meir Shadow was the perfect choice for the Butler's Pantry and the entire home. The depth that Meir Shadow, with its subtle sheen, adds the right amount of reflection without detracting from its surroundings.
To extend dimension, depth, and intensity throughout her home, Laleh opted for the Meir Shadow Round Kitchen Mixer Tap from the Shadow collection.
In the Butler's Pantry, she chose a Lavello Single Bowl Sink, which provides more counter space and is sublime when bathed in natural light, creating an ideal working area.

Stepping into the main bathroom, we are instantly transported to a zen-like state.
The bathtub and Meir Shadow Round Freestanding Bath Spout and Hand Shower combine as an exquisite art piece within the space, inviting you to take a soak and unwind.
The floor and wall tiles exude a subdued ambience, adding textural elements that provide visual interest while ensuring style and durability. Combined with the sleekness of Meir Shadow, they add a distinctly modern twist to traditionalism.
The standout piece for Rachel is the Round Freestanding Bath Spout and Hand Shower. Captured beautifully in the main bathroom, it provides the ultimate spa vibes.

E N S U I T E & P O W D E R R O O M
Super spacious and ultra-modern, the Ensuite is a standout. The contrast between masculine and feminine tones is evident. A fluted floating vanity in white is offset with large-scale tiles, creating an illusion of elongated space. The same floor and wall tiles featured in the main bathroom were chosen for the Ensuite and Powder Room.
Meir Shadow seamlessly integrates into the aesthetic, offering a striking complement to its surroundings. Lalah opted for the Meir Shadow Round Tall Basin Mixer, creating cleaner, sharper lines that beautifully enhance the bathroom. This complete look is paired with matching Shadow bathroom accessories—functional and visually appealing.
The Powder Room is equally beautiful. Sophisticated pendant lights add a soft glow and a layer of modernity, elevating simplicity. It provides the ultimate place for guests to freshen up and serves as a half-bath when the main bathroom is occupied.
