What Are Vimar Eikon Exé Vintage, Flat and Tondo Light Switches?

Depending on the type of Flat light switches, they may either come with plain square buttons without LED light or engraved with symbols that can be lit from the backend.

Most hotels and high-end apartments use the up and down arrows for temperature setting, and combine them with the several types of light, and climate control symbols for easy recognition.

With your cover plates beautifully adorning the walls, it is only right to pair them with matching Australian power points, which are also available from Vimar. The power point colours come in white, metal (grey), and black.

Vimar Vintage, Flat and Tondo light switches can be installed with either basic On/Off button functions or combine them with other features like dimming and home automation controls – more about this under the technology section of this article.

What Types of Finishes Do Vintage, Flat and Tondo Cover Plates Have?

One of the defining characteristics of the Eikon Exé luxury light switches collection is its extensive selection of premium materials. Rather than solely using moulded plastic, Vimar’s materials include stone, wood, glass, leather, and premium metals that complement high-end interiors.

These materials allow designers to coordinate switches with timber cabinetry, stone benchtops, natural flooring, feature walls, and luxury joinery, creating a consistent design theme throughout the project.

Technology Behind Vimar Light Switches

While the Eikon Exé luxury Italian-made light switch cover plates are recognised for their appearance and quality, they have also been engineered as complete electrical control systems.

The modular platform supports standard switching functions, dimmers, LED indicators, USB charging solutions, thermostats, and other control devices.

For projects requiring building automation, the collection is compatible with both KNX and Vimar By-me systems.

KNX is an internationally recognised open automation standard commonly specified for luxury homes, commercial buildings, hotels, and larger architectural developments. It allows lighting, blinds, climate control, security, and other building systems to operate through a single integrated platform while remaining compatible with products from multiple manufacturers.

By-me is Vimar's own home automation platform, designed primarily for residential projects seeking integrated control of lighting, climate, and other household functions within the Vimar ecosystem.

This flexibility allows architects and designers to specify the same elegant switch design whether the project requires conventional electrical wiring or a fully automated smart building.

Modular System Functions

The Vimar platform supports a wide range of interchangeable functions, including:

• Lighting controls

• Dimmers

• Power outlets

• USB charging

• Home automation controls

• Building management functions

This modular approach simplifies future upgrades while maintaining a consistent appearance throughout the building.

Which Eikon Exé Light Switch Range Should You Choose?

Choosing between Vintage, Flat and Tondo is a design decision rather than a technical one, as each range shares the same engineering platform and automation compatibility.

If you are aiming for timeless elegance and classic detailing, Vimar Vintage luxury light switches complement traditional interiors.

If the design brief focuses on clean lines and minimalist architecture, Vimar Flat light switches provide the most understated appearance.

For projects seeking softer geometry and a more relaxed aesthetic, Vimar Tondo light switches introduce gentle curves that pair beautifully with contemporary residential and hospitality interiors.

Whichever style you select, each collection combines premium materials, Italian craftsmanship and advanced building technology to create electrical accessories that contribute to the overall architectural vision.
