Choosing the right size pool for your home Size really does matter when it comes to choosing a pool and it should never be just about maximising the swimming space but more about maximising the potential of the pool and the surrounding landscape as a whole. Quite often, people can make the mistake of assuming the bigger the pool, the better and in doing so, end up with a space that’s dominated by water with not much room left for the surrounding landscape. Now don't get me wrong, a larger pool can be the way to go if you have plenty of room but with property sizes becoming smaller, not having the right proportion of space around the pool, can result in very low visual appeal and function, not to mention, little to no return on investment. The best pool and landscapes are those that have the right balance. Making sure you’ve allowed enough space for key factors like plantings, pool furniture, and decorative features will be crucial to a good outcome. Other items like pool fencing and filtration equipment are also key factors to getting it right. Careful planning should not only help integrate the pool with the rest of the landscape but also with the home itself. Creating a wish list of all the things you would like to add, will give you a better idea of how the space could look and function and also give you a much better understanding of the right size pool for your home.
