As the rugged yet refined sibling of its Melbourne store, Astrid Dispensary Byron Bay offers a tranquil space formed by gentle curves that are grounded by linear lines to enable the seamless interaction between pharmacist and patient. Visitors are welcomed to the space with a comforting sense of serenity and human connection.

The design of the space was to bridge communities whilst encapsulating Byron Bay’s history and its sweeping natural landscapes of its hinterland. Nestled within the Habitat Collective, the dispensary gently embraces visitors with a wash of Astrid’s signature calming green hues. The walls are lined with lush foliage draping over deep walnut timbers. A moss coated wall evokes fond memories of long winding drives through the Hinterland, paying respect to those who came before us. The space is expanded by mirrors lining the back wall, attracting natural light, and reflecting the outdoor garden greenery, emulating an alluringly vast forest. These design elements act in unison as an extract of nature itself by accentuating its textures, greenery and Astrid’s love of all things natural.

This love is fundamental to Astrid’s devotion as a pioneer in connecting people with cannabinoid medicines, plant-based therapies and nutraceuticals. It is therefore only natural that the new dispensary presents a space that is doubles as a sanctuary for plant-based medicines grounded by science. In the centre of the space lies a concrete countertop with gentle curves and rugged texture. This is an unassuming yet bold symbol of Astrid’s unwavering connection to the natural state of Byron Bay. Astrid’s products are meticulously arranged and seamlessly blend into the space’s green walls, mirroring our own relationship with Mother Nature whose resources and generosity allow for humankind’s pursuit of innovation.

The design of Astrid Dispensary Byron Bay is curated to be distinguishable to the Melbourne store. Akin to siblings, both dispensaries embody their own identities whilst sharing the common bond of upending the expectations of traditional pharmacies with an experience that is distinctly, Astrid.
