Brunswick West House

Quality over quantity. When Taylor Knight was tasked with opening up more space in a Brunswick West heritage house, their singular goal was ‘quality over quantity’. And by our reckoning, that’s exactly what they’ve achieved. As part of a smart reimagining of the California bungalow’s existing floorplan, Taylor Knight created a tastefully unassuming new entry point to the heart of the home, opening up a refined yet casual space for the family to relax in or retreat to. Given the play of geometry and light that characterised the new space, there was really only one solution that would work to bring fire into the room for when the colder months move in – Shaker by Skantherm, designed by the renowned Antonio Citterio. Shaker’s discreet dimensions and unique take on a contemporary yet rustic aesthetic proved an immaculate fit for the recessed nook it inhabits, adding further sophistication and warmth to a room perfect for wiling away the day or night in. Shaker shows just how much more you can do sometimes with less. And we couldn’t be happier that its distinctive sensibility has fitted in so seamlessly with this considered work from Taylor Knight. Also available with a bench seat in long or short configuration, Shaker is a true quiet achiever. Think it could be the right fit for your home?
