Catlins Urban Woolshed

Offering an escape from the everyday, this small home is a cost-effective blend of woolshed style and modern flair. With stunning rural and sea views, this is a special place to call home.  A homage to childhood, the dwelling was conceived with rural sheds in mind. Both the Designer and the Client grew up on nearby farms so the concept quickly developed with simple gable forms and timeless corrugated steel and macrocarpa timber claddings.  The home uses large areas of glazing to capture the outstanding views over Molyneux Bay and the surrounding hills. The roof form provides the perfect amount of shading to ensure the summer sun is kept out and winter sun is welcomed in. The interior design invites the occupants to relax and unwind, creating a sense of warmth in a picturesque location. From the modern open plan kitchen and living area to the stunning balcony views, this stylish home has been designed to capture the very essence of urban living in a small town coastal setting.  The Catlins Urban Woolshed is the perfect combination of modern living and woolshed inspired design, creating a beautiful and cost-effective escape that will make you feel right at home. A permanent refuge, this is the perfect place to take in the majestic views of the Catlins coastline and countryside and experience the peace and tranquility of the coastal town of Kaka Point.
