The stunningly crafted Wanaka Residence by Mclaren Architecture Design is a magnificent example of modern country style. Found on a small site, the residence combines gable forms with cedar and plaster cladding to create a refuge of pure sophistication.
The residence offers a unique blend of contemporary and comfortable. Where the eye is met with clean lines and an open plan, the heart is filled with the warmth of timber, texture and a homely atmosphere.
Taking inspiration from the alpine environment of its surrounds, the residence has been designed to pay homage to the natural beauty of the Wanaka area. The use of warm natural materials, including cedar cladding, and solidness of the plaster render, has created a connection between the home and the surrounding environment.
