Macfie Architecture proudly presents the transformation of Daily Bread, a heritage icon in Point Chevalier, Auckland. This project involved converting the iconic bank building into a modern hospitality location, featuring a commercial kitchen and dining space. The neo-classical design underwent a complete facility overhaul and structural upgrade, with careful consideration given to modern building codes, utilitarian features, restoration of original designs, and the addition of custom steel joinery and outdoor seating area.
Completed in three stages, with the final phase finished in 2020, this project showcases Macfie Architecture's expertise in blending historical charm with contemporary functionality. The collaboration with professionals like Buxeda Construction and Planning Plus ensured a seamless execution of the design vision. Recognised for its excellence, Daily Bread received the Heritage Commercial Design Award from ADNZ in 2000, solidifying its status as a standout project in the retail and renders categories.
