DNA of Design | House 02

In the recent DNA of Design series by The Block favourites , Andy and Deb, viewers were treated to the ultimate transformation on House 2. Once a mismatched, outdated home in the picturesque Gold Coast Hinterland, it is now the epitome of coastal country living.

The renovation combined a dramatic alternation and extension throughout both the interior and exterior of the property. It even included a complete makeover of the outdoor living area, which Andy and Deb captured as part of their DNA of Design series – watch it here.

One of the most striking features of Andy and Deb’s makeover was the addition of the floating deck to extend the outdoor living space. Andy and Deb wanted a durable and low maintenance decking solution for the homeowners, especially given the harsh elements of the Gold Coast environment. DecoDeck® was selected as the final solution thanks to the resilient marine-grade DecoWood finish – which effortlessly endures the relentless assault of salt air and intense sunlight, which go hand-in-hand with a coastal lifestyle.

Seamlessly blending beauty and practicality across the outdoor and pool area, DecoDeck’s unwavering durability proved to be a game-changer for House 2. The straight and long aluminium decking boards are resistant to rot and termites, and combined with the decking system’s clip connector, it provided a quick, easy and low-cost installation. It’s non-slip rating also meant it was suitable for use around the pool.

With DecoDeck®, they found the perfect balance of aesthetics and practicality. The carefully chosen DecoWood® Curly Birch™ finish, works perfectly with the home’s classic white and neutral tones and complements the surrounding pool tiles, ensuring a consistent flow from the house to the outdoor pool area.

The minimal maintenance required for DecoDeck meant that the owners will spend less time on upkeep and more time enjoying their outdoor living space, creating lasting memories with family and friends.
