By Co-lab Architecture
Our client briefed us on this multi-residential project to ‘redefine the dynamic of inner-suburban apartment living’. Co-lab Architecture's response was to convert this site, historically used as a foundry, into a sustainable apartment building that encourages the occupants to engage with their neighbours through the use of space and perspective.
Firstly, we ensured the building structure itself engages with the neighbouring properties and development by focusing views on to surrounding proposals incorporating social zones piazzas and retail hubs. A rooftop garden with city views and shared pavilion for all residents was implemented to encourage occupants to engage with their neighbours.
Co-lab is a growing architecture practice based in Melbourne. We have many projects on the go across multi-residential, childcare, residential, and commercial.
