"Light from All Angles"
Located on Erina Avenue, Five Dock, this addition is an expression of form and function with various angles working in harmony to allow light to gracefully play on various surfaces to create a well-lit environment.
The central courtyard design provides a separation between the old and the new while providing solar access throughout the house. The design utilises a mixture of low embodied materials such as timber and fibre cement sheeting and a polished concrete floor for its high thermal mass, to provide a comfortable space with less reliance on mechanical ventilation.
