Kauri Kitchen Kiwi Villa

The Opportunity They came to Joey with some design ideas for a kauri kitchen island as a centrepiece for a new hard plywood kitchen with kauri benchtops, which they would also commission Kingpost to make. The Action This was a classic kiwi beachside villa where little lined up nor was particularly level, leading to some head-scratching for Joey in order to make a flush fit. Kingpost Timberworks set about designing the kauri kitchen island which was nicely detailed and equipped with wheels, so it could be wheeled out to the deck when clients were entertaining. Measuring up for the new kitchen and making the kauri benchtops was completed. Installation proved a little more challenging but Joey made it work and fit around unlevel windows and walls.  Leaving it looking as if it belonged there entirely. The entire process took about four weeks from the start of the build. The Result The end result was beautifully warm kauri centrepiece and kitchen tops which lifted the home's character and good looks. Much to the delight of its satisfied owners.
