Krispy Kreme, a well-known American doughnut franchise, made headlines in 2018 when it announced the opening of its first store in New Zealand.

This news was met with a lot of excitement and anticipation from doughnut lovers in the country. The franchise had chosen Teak Construction to build its first production and retail facility in New Zealand.

Teak was tasked with building a purpose-built facility that would serve as a comprehensive manufacturing base for Krispy Kreme in the Auckland area and the Waikato.

The facility was designed by BSW Architects and featured a single-level design with a striking red, grey, and cream colour scheme.

The new store was more than just a retail shop and drive-through. It was a state-of-the-art production facility that would supply doughnuts to other Krispy Kreme stores in the region.

This meant that the facility needed to be equipped with the latest technology and equipment to ensure that the doughnuts produced were of the highest quality.
