Lannan has a very colourful history from a restaurant and nightclub, to a bazaar, then holiday accommodation before becoming a family home. If only the walls could speak! The brief for the renovation was to add to this history and character with the introduction of recycled materials with the addition of a new kitchen, bathroom and general refurbishment of the home.
The majority of materials, sourced from the deconstruction of a Cape Cod building, were re-purposed into Lannan. Kauri floorboards formed the beautiful handmade island benchtop, the old Stanley stove and English radiators provided central heating throughout the home and traditional double casement sash windows replaced old rotten joinery. Demo timbers, beams and posts helped define spaces and enhance character to this home, adding to the old world charm.
