A century-old bungalow in Papakura beautifully restored, featuring an open-plan layout centered around an antique potbelly stove, seamlessly connecting the living space to the backyard through bi-fold doors.
As you can imagine, a 100-year-old bungalow takes a fair bit of conservation. While living overseas, the homeowners used the opportunity to have Renovation Partner Kim Reiche manage a proper restoration of their vacated property. Anticipating the repairs that the home would undoubtedly need allowed the renovation to run smoothly.
The new open-plan layout is based around the antique potbelly stove, making it the centrepiece of the living area. The kitchen, living, and dining rooms now flow effortlessly and are even connected to the backyard through bi-fold doors.
