R&B Grillhouse is a restaurant brand that evolved from the successful Ribs & Burgers. With R&B Grillhouse, we pay tribute to the original founders and their family recipes, which have been passed down through generations to preserve their heritage of unmistakably good basting, flame-grilled steaks and ribs, hand-cut fries cooked to perfection, and decadent milkshakes. To reflect this strong family bond through food, we have designed the restaurant with a Retro Steakhouse Diner concept inspired by the 60s, when the backyard barbeque was an institution in Australia. Our goal was to create a family-friendly environment, so we developed a color palette that evokes nostalgia for diners of all ages while still being grounded in modern consumer behavior.
Our ultimate goal is to create a space where customers can come together, share a meal, and feel a sense of belonging.

Our studio specializes in design for behaviour.
We have done so for almost 30 years and in this time we have learned a tremendous amount about how people behave naturally and instinctively within these social environments. We have learned the hard way that in order to design successful venues, we needed to place predictive human behaviour at the heart of what we do. We capture succinctly how most people behave most of the time in order to design spaces for the most joy and ultimately the most success. This assists us in capturing the spirit of place.
