REXEL Australia executive wanted to improve their operational facilities at their head office in North Ryde. REXEL considered remodelling their existing space and, as an alternative, relocating to another building in the same area.  They engaged in a process of space analysis and planning to compare outcomes, logistics, benefits, longevity and risk mitigation.  Their objective was to introduce improved working facilities and work methods andexplore opportunities to be more space efficient in view of advancing technology and systems furniture.  Through this process, it was resolved that relocating to a new premise was more cost-effective and less disruptive to the operations. With clever space planning, REXEL’s new premises floor area was reduced from 2000sqm over 2 floors to 1200sqm over a single floor. They achieved a new fitout and retained their personnel numbers plus growth allowance whilst reducing their net lettable commitment.

The new tenancy supports agile working with personnel anchor workspaces, high-sit collaborative and communal desks, quiet focus pods and formal meeting rooms. The mix of task based work elements, relaxed and formal, facilitates different working experiences and offers flexibility to the daily routine.

The fitout was completed in March 2020 when NSW went into Covid 19 lockdown. The systems furniture delivery was delayed by several weeks and the installation inspection was done remotely. As our documentation is thorough and accurate the remote site inspection was quick, effortless and successful.

The project was successfully completed, all went to plan and REXEL Australia relocated in the staggered form to accommodate restrictions.
