Award winner: Landscape Queensland Construction Excellence Awards 2020
The Brief
Our clients had two main goals: to create a clear entry path to the house (a challenge due to the property’s orientation) and add an aesthetically pleasing lap-pool that would lure them outdoors for both exercise and recreation.
Our Design Response
Inspired by the stunning rural surroundings, we set about creating a spectacular country retreat. Upon entry, a grand tiled path leads through a striking arbor and lush green canopy of flourishing Pandorea Jasminoides (Lady Di).
The front entry connects to the alfresco area with french pattern travertine tiling and the repetition of white pots and planters into the pool surrounds. The use of natural stone and timber add warmth and complement the pastoral setting.
Perfectly positioned to take in the sweeping country views, the dual-edged infinity pool is an ideal hub for both exercise and recreation. The pool can be viewed from large windows in the main living area and accessed via the alfresco area surrounding the house and garden. Discreet pool fencing – from steel round bars to magnificent glass – allows uninterrupted views of the countryside. Sweeping garden beds and graded areas of couch lawn soften the structural elements and reference the rolling hills beyond.
This project has transformed the way the owners interact with their garden and created an outdoor entertaining area that seamlessly connects with the rural landscape.
