Award winner: Landscape Queensland Construction Excellence Awards 2018
The Brief
Our challenge was to transform a disused and drab front entry into a warm welcome for visitors and a place for recreation and relaxation. The preference was for a low maintenance garden to suit a busy young family with teens.
Our Design Response
We designed and installed a spectacular front entry garden complete with a pool, deck, pergola and bifold doors connecting the outside to the main living hub. A lush, tropical planting palette softens the expanse of sandy-coloured paving, while the seamless pool edging and minimalist waterline tiles create a sense of spaciousness. Screen planting protects the living areas from the western sun, provides privacy and disguises the boundary lines. A simple timber bench seat offers respite and subdued lighting creates evening ambiance.
We carefully selected materials that would embrace the traditional house architecture. From warm timber and tapered pergola beams, to stainless steel wires, the garden elements seamlessly blend into the existing aesthetic.
The verdict? This stunning landscape transformed the way the owners interact with their garden and breathed life into a disused area.
