The Brief
Our clients charged us with creating their dream garden – one that would inspire play, relaxation and entertainment all year round. The design aesthetic needed to embrace an element of excitement while respecting the Hampton’s style architecture. Functionality was equally important. The garden needed to be flexible enough to evolve with the needs of a growing family.

Our Design Response
From start to finish, we set about creating a journey of surprise and delight. Upon entry, an unassuming, pedestrian gate opens up to a contemporary yet elegant set of stone clad floating stairs – the culmination of intricate and innovative construction. 

The modern pool - complete with floating timber deck – is perfectly positioned to maximise views from the garden and inside the house. Rounding out the ultimate outdoor living space are the alfresco area, cosy fire pit, pizza oven and generous lawn. There’s also plenty of room for future family additions – from water tanks to veggie patches.

The repetition of shapes, colours and materials connects each space, creates a sense of balance and pays homage to the Hamptons architecture. Large silver travertine tiles echo the rectangles in the house facade and are harmonised by the sweeping curves of the fire-pit, garden beds and entry landing. The juxtaposing planting colour palette ties it all together – from bold maroon highlights to subdued greys, soft silvers and light shades of green that reference the house trim.

Designed with both adults and kids in mind, this is a garden designed for hot Summer days, cool Winter nights and every season in between. ''
