Contemporary hillside home in Sumner, Christchurch, featuring cedar cladding, sweeping ocean views, a swimming pool, and a unique floating gaboon plywood wall that balances open-plan living with private spaces.
Clad in a cloak of cedar and curled up on the hillside, this contemporary home in Sumner, Christchurch captures sweeping ocean views around Pegasus Bay to the Kaikoura Ranges. The outlook can also be enjoyed from the azure waters of the swimming pool.
Sheltered areas provide outdoor living spaces that can be enjoyed year round. Inside; a series of intimate private spaces unfold into the heart of the home – the wide-open family and entertaining area. Cosy and inviting, a centrally placed floating gaboon plywood wall provides a backdrop for open-plan living on one side and bedroom wing on the other creating privacy and a visual hearth and connection and the same time.
