The Governors Centre enhances educational opportunities for Sydney Girls High School and Sydney Boys High School with a flexible theatre and examination hall, accommodating 400 and 200 students respectively, while activating the site’s Cleveland Street frontage.
Client: NSW Department of Education
The Governors Centre is a joint initiative by Sydney Girls High School (SGHS) and Sydney Boys High School (SBHS) to provide facilities enhancing both schools’ educational opportunities and supporting their demand for performance, examinations, and future-focused Learning Spaces. The Governors Centre includes a theatre with raked auditorium seating for 400 people with a Cleveland Street entrance that activates the site’s frontage from this approach. An adjacent examination/teaching hall in the Governor's Centre also seats 200 students. The Centre maximises flexibility offering an adaptable facility that responds to the changing educational needs of the two schools.
