Calida successfully won the competitive tender to convert the existing Brooklyn Hotel, located on the corner of George Street and Grosvenor Place, into what is now The Morrison.

The Morrison was Fraser Short's first independent venture after leaving Keystone Group. The project involved the complete strip out of the internal finishes, the existing kitchen and the full demolition of the rear steel glazed structure and external pavers. The new premises include a complete internal fitout, a new kitchen & bar, new toilets and the construction of a steel and glass structure at the rear of the premises designed by Harry Seidler Architects. The Morrison is located within a commercial complex called Grosvenor Place which offers one of Sydney’s highest commercial rents.

Grosvenor Place is managed by GPM Management and an independent project manager EVC who ensures the tenants are never inconvenienced and that all the works comply with their strict guidelines which include maintaining fire egress from the commercial levels above The Morrison. Working successfully within this critically occupied building and coordinating with several stake holders were key reasons the project was a success. The project was delivered two weeks ahead of schedule, within budget, and to the highest of standards.
