Located in a secluded bush-clad valley, this Waiheke Island Pod Retreat offers guests a peaceful escape to immerse themselves in the area's natural surroundings. Designed to coexist seamlessly with the natural beauty of the location, these pods are strategically positioned along the contour of the landscape, staggered to optimize sunlight exposure and maintain privacy while ensuring unobstructed valley views.

The pods were constructed in a workshop in South Auckland, resulting in an exciting journey to the Palm Beach site, where they were lowered onto their foundations. Elevated on black screw piles, the pods appear to float over the steep terrain, creating a unique connection with nature. With black Colorsteel and mahogany vertical shiplap cladding, the retreat's architectural elements result in a light visual impact on the environment.

DRAWN is a collaborative architectural design studio, based in a multi-disciplinary design space in Ponsonby, Tāmaki Makaurau. Started in 2012 as a draughting company, DRAWN has since grown into a team of designers and technicians who can deliver projects ranging from small scale; tiny homes, renovations and commercial fit-outs, to larger scale projects such as new builds, multi-unit housing developments, and town planning.

At DRAWN we pride ourselves on fostering a culture of collaboration and growth. We are constantly engaging with new design philosophies in order to face the challenges of climate change, building costs, energy efficiency and sustainability. We are committed to realizing the creative vision of our clients - from first meeting, through design, and to completion.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
