Engaging temporary 'pop-up' school in Wentworth Park, designed to meet the educational needs of Ultimo Public School during construction, featuring outdoor learning zones and vibrant graphics for a memorable experience.
Client: NSW Department of Education
This temporary “pop-up” school is an engaging and playful response to the immediate educational needs of the Ultimo Public School while the new permanent school was under construction. The design responds to the physical constraints of the site in Wentworth Park while challenging preconceptions of the use of demountable classrooms and creating a stimulating learning environment. Through the use of outdoor learning zones, colour, and playful graphic overlays, this “pop-up” will be an experience leaving a lasting memory for the children and staff who use it, a special, if fleeting, moment in their life of the School.
