Project Overview: Woolworths New Zealand engaged Naylor Love as the main contractor for the construction of its newly built Nelson Junction store, with Concrete Sealing & Grinding appointed to deliver the polished concrete flooring package following the placement of a new concrete slab. Spanning approximately 2,100 square metres, the floor showcases locally sourced aggregate and has been completed using the Husqvarna Superfloor Platinum system. The finished surface delivers a refined, consistent appearance with high aggregate exposure, while providing exceptional durability and long-term resistance to wear.  Project Details: Sustainability was a key focus of the project, with all construction materials—from timber to concrete—carefully vetted to ensure responsible sourcing in support of the 5-Star Green Star target. This commitment highlights Naylor Love and Woolworths' dedication to environmentally conscious building practices and long-term sustainability outcomes. Consistent Finish: Once the concrete had cured for approximately 14–21 days, polishing works were carried out by Christchurch company Concrete Sealing and Grinding, a Husqvarna Superfloor Accredited Contractor. An initial 5mm grind was undertaken to achieve full stone exposure, before progressing through the Superfloor system to an 800-grit finish. The result was a uniform, high-quality surface finish across the floor. All works were completed in step with the broader construction programme, demonstrating careful planning, precision execution, and a focus on workmanship. Enhanced Features The Husqvarna Superfloor Platinum finish applied by Concrete Sealing and Grinding, not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the floor but also provides practical benefits. Ideal for public spaces and retail environments, the highly polished surface offers durability, easy maintenance, and environmental sustainability.
