Making an Informed Decision

Measuring Your Space and Understanding Specs & Models

At Ethan, we know that choosing the right outdoor setting is about more than aesthetics — it’s about functionality and fit. That’s why we provide detailed product diagrams on each Setting Page on our website, helping you visualise how much space your new table and seating arrangement will require.

The Specs & Models section on each setting page includes precise dimensions, seating capacities, and optional extras, along with a helpful diagram to illustrate the required setting diameter. These resources ensure that you can confidently select the perfect setting for your outdoor space.

Practical Considerations for the Perfect Round Outdoor Setting

1. Measuring Your Space - Aspects to Consider

Clearance around the setting - Allow plenty of space between the back of the chair or bench and surrounding structures for ease of movement and thoroughfare room. The setting can often be positioned against one edge of the space rather than automatically in the centre. This allows more room along one edge where the main thoroughfare or access is required.

Shape of the space - Round table settings work beautifully in square, rectangular, and circular spaces but may need extra consideration in narrow areas.

Umbrella footprint - Ethan's umbrellas are designed to overhang the back of the benches and chairs, providing maximum shade and UV protection. Be mindful of roof eaves, house or courtyard walls, and trees when positioning your setting.

Benches - Some of the benches can be pushed in under the table edge to create more walk-through (thoroughfare) space when the setting is not in use.

2. Choosing Between Benches and Chairs

Curved Benches - Maximise seating capacity and create a cohesive, streamlined look.

Individual Chairs - Provide flexibility and allow guests to easily move in and out of the setting.

Mixed Seating - Combine both benches, chairs or triangle stools for a versatile, stylish, and comfortable arrangement.

3. Enhancing Your Setting with Accessories

Enhance your dining experience with our selection of premium additions:
