This ‘high-tech at home’ steam oven is designed to elevate the everyday culinary experience.

It’s a space we spend time in every day –  somewhere that we generally start and finish our day, gather with friends and family, and create memories. There’s a reason it’s the heart of the home, and why every designer and architect places such emphasis on getting kitchen designs just right for every homeowner.

From the style of the kitchen and how it blends with the rest of the home, to its functional design and aspects such as the ‘working triangle’, there’s lots to consider.

With over 15 years of experience in developing innovative cooktops, BORA understands this and knows what people want from modern kitchens: to create a living space that meets the needs of the individual and makes them happy, every day.

The way it's doing this? By taking a ‘less is more’ approach.

This is seen in the design of BORA’s two-in-one cooktops and extractors. Combining a contemporary, avant-garde design with top performance and maximum ease of use, the latest model – the Professional 3.0 – has an intuitive control knob, oversized induction cooking zones, accurate temperature control, automatic extractor control, and whisper-quiet extractor fan operation.

“It’s a two-in-one system, which also means one installation,” explains Stefano Di Giovanni,

BORA APAC country manager. “The cooktops are suitable for island installations where there are no overhead cupboards, they have a concealed exhaust system and cleaning is reduced to only one system, rather than having a hard-to-reach canopy rangehood to clean as well.”

Instead of letting cooking vapours and odours rise in the first place, the cooktop extractor draws them away when they are first created – taking them directly from the pot or pan on the cooktop.

The BORA Classic 2.0 combined cooktop and extractor.
All important functions can be intuitively accessed at the push of a button.

A professional steam oven for the home

This smart steam-reduction technology has informed BORA’s latest creation: the BORA X BO steam oven. With commercial-grade features for residential kitchens, it’s the brand’s first oven and the ultimate cooking solution for the savvy home cook.

“The development took three years and the engineering team looked at what could be different about the BORA oven,” says Stefano. “It’s fully steam-operated and it’s a compact design for residential use, but with commercial capabilities.

“The oven door has an automatic release button and the downdraft pulls the steam out of the oven so it doesn’t escape into the kitchen. This feature was borrowed from the downdraft technology of our cooktops.”

Strong cooking odours are also minimised thanks to the activated charcoal filter, a feature also found in the design of BORA’s cooktops.

Intuitive operation

The BORA X BO is easy to use with a high resolution 19-inch touch display that can be tilted for viewing if needed.

“It’s the biggest LED screen on the market in this space, so visibility is great when operating it. It’s pictorial so you can see what you’re cooking.”

Moisture and temperature can be pre-set or entered manually, or a range of special programmes can be selected based on what is being cooked – from crispy roasts or light and airy croissants, there are also modes for heating, defrosting, and even proofing dough or melting chocolate. Personal messages can be displayed on the screen for others in the household who may be using the kitchen, and an app means you can keep an eye on what’s happening while you’re in another area of the home or out and about.

The oven’s technology also removes the hassle of cleaning, with an automatic cleaning programme. Simply twist the cleaning cartridge into the oven rack when cool, and it will all be taken care of – you won’t even need to wipe the inside of the oven dry.

The complete package

Having already shown its mastery in developing high-performance cooktops with integrated extraction systems, BORA’s latest creation is one that ticks all the boxes. Plus, this latest addition to the company’s repertoire means it is now possible to have both a BORA cooktop and oven – both with sleek designs that makes it easy for the appliances to blend seamlessly in kitchens of all design styles.

The BORA X BO can also be paired with the multi-drawer. Also with a touchscreen operating panel, this appliance is a clever accompaniment to the oven – allowing you to pre-heat plates and dishes, cook at low temperatures, regenerate or defrost food, or simply keep meals warm.

“The professional steam oven, cooktop extraction system and multi-drawer can be seamlessly combined to form a complete ensemble that brings together the benefits of the latest cooking techniques with effective vapour extraction technology,” says Stefano.

It’s the perfect recipe for food and design-lovers alike.
