Awning windows
Awning windows are hinged at the top and open outward to create a small sheltered area under the window pane. This allows in the light and sun without allowing in as much rain.
Bifold windows
Bifold windows bend in at least one place to fold up like an accordion. Cafe and living room windows are often bifold windows.
French windows
French windows and doors run from the floor to the ceiling and are very popular in Australia. They are often made up of several smaller panes of glass, which makes them easy to repair in case of damage.
Louvre windows
Louvre windows are designed to maximise privacy. They are made of multiple horizontal panes of glass, metal, or wood which can be tilted to allow for sun and air circulation without allowing passers-by to see through them.
Casement windows
Casement windows are hinged on one side, allowing for the window to be opened like a small door. These can have a small crank installed to open the window, or they can be opened manually.
Sash windows
Sash windows consist of two panes of glass stacked vertically. When opened, the lower pane of glass can slide up behind the upper pane. They are great for rooms with limited space. If the two panes of glass move horizontally, they are referred to as a sliding window.
Tilt and turn windows
Tilt and turn windows allow the window to be opened horizontally like a casement window, or titled vertically like an awning window.
Security window grilles
Security window grilles are sturdy, metal barriers installed over windows, providing a strong layer of protection against intrusions while allowing visibility and airflow.
Skylights and roof windows
Skylights and roof windows are designed to bring natural light into a home or building, offering a view of the sky above and enhancing the ambiance of indoor spaces with the warmth and brightness of daylight.
Window mouldings
Window mouldings are decorative trim pieces that frame the window, adding architectural interest and enhancing the overall aesthetic of the room with their detailed design.
The advantages of high quality windows
High-quality windows are made from a type of glass that is far superior in composition and quality. This ensures they are stronger, easier to clean and more pleasing to the eye. They are also carefully designed with window frames that complement a wide range of architectural styles. Modern products are much more energy efficient offer superior benefits when it comes to heating and cooling in your home. They are also made specifically for Australian conditions, giving you a great return on investment in the short and long term.
How to choose a window that’s right for you
A big part of the decision is choosing the right type of window for your room and home. For example, sash and bifold windows are useful for ground-level rooms, as they don’t stick out while opening. French windows are great for letting in a lot of natural light and are often installed in living rooms and bedrooms in Australia to make the most of the view. Alternatively, if you live in a busy area, you might want to choose louvre windows to allow in the breeze without being on display. You may also want to consider the different levels of glazing, for example, double glazed windows or even triple glazed windows, for that extra bit of insulation. Other than this, prioritising high-quality products will ensure you end up with windows you can rely on.
