RUBI Architects is an architect-led studio based in Geelong, founded in 2017 by architect Alex Rubilar. We design bespoke luxury homes, coastal residences, renovations and residential developments across Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula, the Surf Coast, the Great Ocean Road and Otways, and Greater Melbourne — and undertake boutique, high-end commercial architecture and interior design. We believe in great design ... but we're also realists (and that's a good thing) Drawing on international experience across Chile, the USA and Tokyo, grounded in intimate local knowledge, we ground every project in what can genuinely be built on your site and budget — so the result is both beautiful and deliverable. We stay hands-on from first sketch to finished build. Our diversity of skills and global experience give you confidence you're receiving top-tier service from an approachable team. Alex is with you for the life of your project, openly sharing his design and technical insights. Great design is buildable design Here’s the thing; good architecture does not need to be pretentious in complexity or novelty in order to be experiential. We believe good design balances sustainability, craftsmanship and the wellbeing of people. It prioritises locally sourced materials, flows with the rhythm of life and makes a positive contribution to a neighbourhood.
