Acland Park Playground banner

DCM Urban Design have undertaken developed design, construction detailing and supervision of Stages 1-9 of Acland Park. The development will eventually include over 1,000 residential dwellings, a small commercial area, a school and childcare facilities. A key aspect of the design is the shared streets (neighbourhood streets) which have been designed as pedestrian focused street, allowing resident children to use the space as an extension of their ‘on back yard’ for playing with other children.

The playground design include play equipment for all ages, a basketball half court and pump track. In a recent survey of Selwyn playgrounds (32), the playground was ranked 4th and 6th by a local community group (https://theseeds.nz/all-32-of-rollestons-playgrounds-rated/).

The shared streets were a finalist in the New Zealand Property Council Awards 2019 for Urban Design, recognising the value the designs will have on the lifestyle of future residents.
