Located in Palm Beach, this waterfront property enjoys its own private beach with views back to Burleigh headland. As with most of the suburb, this land is significantly flood-affected and calls for an elevated floor system to meet council regulations.
Design:
Still midway through the Concept Design process, this project is searching for the ideal arrangement of rooms to accommodate a large family's needs whilst retaining as much outdoor space as possible to enjoy the subtropical climate we enjoy on the Gold Coast. Large sliding doors off all rooms on the ground level create endless connections with the landscape and a strong architectural form brings elements of Scandinavian design to the home, expressing a level of luxury and design minimalism to place the focus on the surrounding landscape and views.
Project Status:
This project is currently going through a series of design workshops whereby the owner is producing their own iterations of the design for discussion and development with technical assistance from BYO Floor Plan.
Upon reaching a viable layout that will be professionally developed with scaled drawings and a 3D model, a structural engineer will be appointed to review the overall design which includes oversized window and door openings, vaulted ceilings and a raised floor system. The building will also be exposed to strong breezes off the waterway, so bracing of a large span structure like this will need careful design consideration if to avoid otherwise costly construction methods.
