The clients already owned a dwelling on the site and appreciated the location and outlook. The existing single level house was in need of considerable refurbishment and the clients also wanted to add a another level to realise the potential of the views and setting. Taking this into consideration, the cost to construct a completely new home with all the benefits of new build was seen as viable. The house was planned around maximising the view over the inlet and linking with the private rear yard with sheltered outdoor space and garden. Additionally, a state of the art wine cellar was integrated into the design in a suitable location to house and display the clients valuable collection.
