Glasshouse at Goonoo Goonoo Station: A modern fine-dining restaurant harmoniously integrated with its rural surroundings, featuring contemporary design elements and award-winning architecture that celebrates the heritage of the Tamworth region.

Awards:

  • World Architecture News- Best Commercial Building Award
  • NSW Blacket Prize for Regional Architecture
  • AIA NSW Award, Sir Arthur G Stephenson Commercial Award

Glasshouse at Goonoo Goonoo Station sits boldly as a modern addition, respectful of its place, nestled amongst the original agricultural structures, within the greater context of the property. Grounded in its rural past, the restaurant offers a fine-dining experience that is also considerate of the broader Tamworth region, renowned for the Country Music Festival.

Glasshouse restaurant at Goonoo Goonoo Station is a recent addition to the property’s station buildings. Respectful of its place, the building is carefully calibrated to the scale and context of Goonoo Goonoo. The restaurant offers a fine-dining experience in a contemporary setting with polished concrete floors seamlessly flowing from the surrounding paths into the interior. Dramatic angled and slatted timber ceilings create movement and volume while giving warmth to the space. The interior finishes include fibre cement sheet, brass, leather, and steel providing a polished contrast to the weathered rural buildings.
