Client: AMP Capital (Currently managed by The GPT Group)
Location: Marrickville, Sydney NSW
Discipline: Interior Design, Bespoke Furniture & Fixture Design and Environmental Signage.
Edge ID was asked to create a new ambience for the existing dining precinct at Marrickville Metro, linking the existing centre with the Smidmore Street retail development, a new repurposed industrial warehouse across the road.
The design brief was to reflect the characteristics of the Marrickville community in an authentic way, reinforcing the unique, diverse and creative arts culture of the local area.
An eclectic and vibrant precinct has been created, using simple, honest and raw materials to provide a gritty urban aesthetic, reflecting the industrial and historical nature of the neighbourhood.
Distinctive detailing & patterning have been used to create a sense of local character. An injection of textures, patterns and colour through custom designed furniture & lighting, concrete & brick floors and local art murals to walls & columns, bringing moments of joy dining to the precinct.
