Pakington Cafe

Strategically located in the hub of West Geelong, Pakington Café makes a great place for a casual meet-up or a professional business chat.

The concept of the café interior architecture prioritizes warm ambience applying soft materials such as dark timber battens matches with warm decorative lights. People would revel in the relaxing vibes for a quiet chat.

From the café’s entrance, a comfy waiting area was provided on a decorative panel. Timber battens alongside the walkway aligned in an angle direction. It opens toward the serene dining area that is elevated on a raised platform.

LINKAGE OF MATERIAL TO FURNITURE

Black walnut timber coupled with soft concrete formed the major material. They create balanced casual and luxurious finishes. The interior is also supplemented with Brass metal edge separated in between materials. It adds a tinge of elegance to this cosy café.

Unlike a regular café with individual tables, our interior designers had multiple discussions into linking wall finishes to furniture. Panels of concrete walls separated by dark reflected mirrors bent at a 90-degrees angle served as the dining table. It continues to the edge of the ground to create unity and continuation.

MOOD SETTING THROUGH SOFT LIGHTS

Lighting has been known as the source of atmosphere and mood setting. In this project, we used ample soft strip lighting along with timber battens and minimal pendant lights. The soft lighting nurtures one’s experience through the reflection from applied materials like warm timber and glasses, presenting itself in a sophisticated approach.
