Northcote House Venetians

Motorised external venetians are a great solution where energy efficiency is a priority.   Ben Callery Architects knew they were an ideal option for Paperback House, Northcote. The motorised external venetians provide a shading system that allow this family to manage privacy, lighting and imporive the energy efficiency of their home. The shape of the blades selected provide superior light block and is our preferred option when specifying external venetians to be used on bedroom windows. Looking to passive design the rear addition has been designed to enable cross ventialtion to minimise energy consumption. The use of the external venetians as a shading system enhances the effect of cross-ventilation as it allows shading at the same time as allowing airflow through the open blades. The modern addition to this period Melbourne home creates a fun, vibrant atmosphere perfect for a young family. The downstairs sheers soften the façade while providing much needed filtered light into the family living space, perfect for reducing screen glare.
