This stunning Melbourne home designed by Finnis Architects was the perfect canvas for external motorised venetian blinds. While providing drama they also provide the homeowner with a practical solution that minimises internal heat gain, enhances light control, maximises privacy and achieves a streamlined architectural facade.
Using home automation the owners are able operate their window furnishings remotely improving the energy efficiency and security of their home.
External venetians are fully retractable allowing easy access to windows for cleaning and maintenance when needed.
Planning for external venetians during the design phase allows recessed pelmets to be correctly sized to ensure the entire stack can be off the glazing when fully retracted.
