Designing for Behaviour:

The Immersive Space of The Meat & Wine Co's Chadstone Restaurant

Design for behaviour has been a crucial aspect of The Meat & Wine Co's Chadstone restaurant. The design team worked to create a space that not only looks impressive but also encourages positive behaviour among guests. The Boma Feature, a modern interpretation of the traditional African Boma, is a visually impactful design element that centres the space with a 360-degree view. Its elegant contemporary weave pattern pays homage to the brand's African roots. It was strategically placed to act as a focal point, drawing guests towards the centre of the restaurant and encouraging social interaction. The warm and inviting atmosphere, coupled with the visually impactful design elements, encourages guests to linger and engage with each other, leading to a sense of community and belonging. The overall design aims to create a memorable experience that leaves a lasting impression, driving guests to return and share their positive experiences with others.

About the
Professional

Our studio specializes in design for behaviour.

We have done so for almost 30 years and in this time we have learned a tremendous amount about how people behave naturally and instinctively within these social environments. We have learned the hard way that in order to design successful venues, we needed to place predictive human behaviour at the heart of what we do. We capture succinctly how most people behave most of the time in order to design spaces for the most joy and ultimately the most success. This assists us in capturing the spirit of place.

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
