Transformation of an old asbestos laundry and carport into a contemporary entertaining space, harmonizing with the 1980s weatherboard mill cottage style, featuring recycled timbers and a unique outdoor kitchen with an inbuilt tepanyaki hotplate.
The brief was to transform an old asbestos laundry and carport into a contemporary entertaining space, in keeping with the 1980s feel of the weatherboard mill cottage.
The building is oriented to shield from the prevailing weather and capture the northerly aspect. Using recycled timbers and pressed tin, we created a combination laundry/outdoor kitchen with inbuilt tepanyaki hotplate.
