Wenona School banner

These dynamic outdoor courtyards were built as part of the construction of new “Woodstock”Junior School at Wenona. Our challenge was to create amphitheatre seating within a relatively small courtyard whilst also emphasising the main entry to “Woodstock”.

We wanted the space to have a strongly feminine feel and so the elegant curves have almost a“Gaudi-esque” character. The pond became a main feature, a threshold with fun and a delightful timber arched bridge.Outdoor space is integrated with internal space offering truly stimulating learning environment.

We also designed the rear gate to the school.Taking inspiration from the school’s well-recognised logo, we worked with artist and blacksmith Leonard Sabol to prefabricate the forged polished stainless steel gate. The suite of these designs reinforce the school’s image and add to the sense of pride being a student of Wenona.

UmbaCo Landscape Architects is a creative and dynamic landscape design studio based in Sydney. Founded in 2001, we work across the Sydney region and New South Wales on a broad range of projects, including residential, commercial, educational, age care and public open spaces.

We are a small team known for big innovative design ideas and talents.

Clients tell us they are often impressed by how proactive, energetic and efficient we are and how we think outside of the square. We keep to timelines and pride ourselves on our quality and high standards.

And we love a challenge! We are not daunted by bigger and more complex projects and we’ve been successful in winning awards for our work, both nationally and in NSW

At ArchiPro we recognise and acknowledge the existing, original and ancient connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to the lands and waterways across the Australian continent. We pay our respects to the elders past and present. We commit to working together to build a prosperous and inclusive Australia.
