The existing environment suffered from excessive noise and sound reflections

Worthy Oceania, a New Zealand-based wholesaler specialising in fabrics, textiles and FMCG products, required an office fit-out to improve the acoustic performance of their workspace. With a range of open areas, meeting spaces and collaboration zones, the existing environment suffered from excessive noise and sound reflections.

Goals

  • Multiple open-plan areas generating background noise
  • Hard surfaces contributing to sound reflections
  • Support focused work and clear communication

Challenges

→ Multiple open-plan areas generating background noise
→ Hard surfaces contributing to sound reflections
→ Maintaining a cohesive, design-led aesthetic across the fit-out

Let’s Talk Solution

Following a thorough Acoustic Appraisal, we implemented a tailored acoustic treatment strategy across the workspace to address sound control in key areas including meeting rooms, collaboration zones and staff spaces. This included:

→ Autex Quietspace ceiling panels installed in the VC and staff rooms to absorb excess sound and reduce reverberation from above
→ Autex Quietspace wall panels installed across boardrooms, meeting rooms and offices to control reflections while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic
→ Autex Cube panels introduced in selected areas, including the VC room and collaboration zones, adding both acoustic performance and visual texture

Together, these treatments created a more balanced acoustic environment throughout the office, supporting clearer communication, improved focus and a more productive workplace.

“I really enjoyed working with Damon and the team on this project. Their technical advice and assistance with specifications bridged the gap between manufacturer and designer. Looking forward to more successful projects in the future.”
